Job Description
MJ Accounting in downtown London Ontario. Our client is seeking a Part-time Accountant.
Responsibilities: _
– Maintaining clients’ books of accounts, reconciliations, including journal entries, and financial packages
– Preparing client files and working papers
– Drafting financial statements for compilation engagements
– Preparing corporate and personal tax returns
– Calculating and preparing payroll, GST/HST and other government remittances
– Preparing T4’s and T5’s
– Preparing client correspondence (i.e. emails, letters and memos)
– Assisting with other administrative functions as required
Requirements: _
_- Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Word, Powerpoint and Outlook
– Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills
– Strong attention to detail, accuracy, analytical and investigative skills
– Strong organizational and time management skills to effectively prioritize and meet deadlines
– Ability to work overtime during peak work seasons
– Proven team player with ability to work in a fast paced, deadline driven environment
_Qualifications:
_– Minimum of 2 + years of related experience in an office environment, preferably in an accounting role
– Formal education in accounting or business and bookkeeping experience is mandatory. An accounting designation is not necessary but preferred
– Knowledge of Quickbooks and TaxPrep is a definite asset, although not necessarily a requirement
